Candle Care Guide
Follow these simple tips to get the most from your Era candles—longer burn time, even melt, beautiful scent, and a safer experience.
First Burn
The first burn (and every burn after) should last until the wax melts across the entire surface, forming an even pool. This prevents tunneling and ensures an even burn every time.
Trim the Wick
Before each burn, trim the wick to about 5mm using scissors or a wick trimmer. This prevents large flames, reduces soot, and helps the scent disperse evenly throughout your space.
Burn Time
Avoid burning your candle for more than 3-4 consecutive hours. Let it cool completely before relighting. This extends the life of your candle and ensures optimal performance.
Never Leave Unattended
Always burn candles within sight. Never leave a burning candle unattended or in a room where you're not present. Extinguish all candles before leaving or going to sleep.
Safe Placement
Place lit candles on flat, stable, heat-resistant surfaces away from drafts, vents, and air currents. This prevents uneven burning, dripping, and potential fire hazards.
Keep Away From
Keep burning candles away from children, pets, and flammable materials. Ensure there's adequate space around the candle—at least 10cm from other objects.
Wooden Wicks
For wooden wick candles, remove any charred wood from previous burns. Keep the flame height to about 2cm maximum for the best, cleanest burn and optimal scent throw.
When to Stop Burning
Stop burning your candle when approximately 1cm of wax remains at the bottom. Burning past this point can overheat the container and create a safety hazard. Once finished, you can clean and reuse the container—or return it to us for a refill!
